There is a lot in the news about Glen Beck, his Mormon beliefs and whether or not he and Mormons are Christian. The following is a teaching by apologist Ron Rhodes of Reasoning from the Scriptures ministries on the difference between Mormonism (The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints) as contrasted with true Biblical Christianity. It’s important to know what you believe so that you will not be deceived. Jesus said a time would come when many would be deceived (Mat. 24:4, 5, 11, 24). God in Scripture speaks of a time when some would depart from the true faith and follow “deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Tim. 4:1-2). God states in His word that a time will come when people won’t care about or follow “sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Tim. 4:3-4). This is happening in our day. “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thess. 5:21-22). That is what God requires of us. He requires that of us because He loves us and wants to keep us from spiritual delusion and danger.
